In 1910, Ye Wan-yong signed the Japan–Korea Annexation Treaty with the Empire of Japan. From then on, the Korean Peninsula became a Japanese colony, and the Korean Empire officially perished!
This book mainly collects writings related to the "History of Korea's National Ruin" published or serialized in Chinese during the late Qing Dynasty and the Republican period. These include serious historical monographs, as well as literary works such as novels, poems, and scripts themed around Korea's downfall, along with contemporary commentaries and speeches. These texts come in various genres and serve as important historical materials for studying the history of modern China-Korea relations, East Asian history, and intellectual and cultural history.
In the process of organizing these Chinese writings, the compilers conducted meticulous research on the authors, publication/distribution, and circulation of these works. Based on this, they provided specialized introductory essays on the writing motivation and content of each piece.
The work is divided into five volumes, with the following texts included in each:

[Volume 2] Yang Chenyin's "Romance of Korea's National Ruin," Guangwen Book Bureau Editorial Office's "Secret History of Ye Wan-yong's Treason: Romance of Korea's National Ruin," Wu Shan's "Tragic History of Korea's National Ruin," Shen Sanghong's "Romance of Goryeo's Ruin: Korean Regrets" (Commentary by Lan Jianqing), Ma Hetian's "Mirror of Korea's Ruin," F. A. Mackenzie's "The Tragedy of Korea."
[Volume 3] Korean Students' "Account of the Tragic Ruin of Korea and Vietnam," Fei Bo's "The Truth About Korea," Le Ting's "Pain of a Perished Nation"... and other monographs and serialized novels.
[Volume 4] Single essays and speeches such as "The Tragic History of the Perished Korea Today," "History of Korea's Destruction," "Causes of Korea's National Ruin," "Reflections on the Ruin of Korea," etc.
[Volume 5] Single short stories and poems such as "Song of Mourning for Korea," "Lament for the Loyal Officials of Perished Korea," "History of Tears Amidst Calamity," "Pitiable Youth of a Perished Nation," etc.
